Since Neverland is a place full of magic and mystery, I wanted to capture that whimsical, adventurous spirit through the website’s design. The color scheme is inspired by the lush, natural landscape of Neverland—using shades of green to evoke the dense, vibrant forests and hints of yellow to represent the warmth and energy of the island. This palette not only feels natural but also subtly hints at the enchanted atmosphere of the place. To reinforce this magical theme, I chose Berkshire Swash for my headers. This font has a flowing, decorative style that adds a sense of playfulness and fantasy, aligning well with the theme of Neverland. For the main body text, I selected Itim, a rounded, friendly font that keeps the descriptions approachable and easy to read while still retaining a playful vibe, much like the carefree essence of Peter Pan.
For the image selections, I chose to use drawings and cartoon-style illustrations for the images. Since Neverland is fictional, I felt that illustrations would leave more to the imagination, allowing viewers to envision their own version of this magical world. This style also contributes to the overall whimsical and fantastical feeling, which might be lost with realistic photography. To enhance readability, I used increased line spacing in descriptions to ensure the text is easy to follow, even with a lot of content. Each page has a clear structure, with a button below each description inviting users to explore further.
Overall, the design choices work together to create an immersive, inviting experience that echoes the magic and mystery of Neverland, appealing to the viewer's sense of wonder and curiosity.
